The Facts: Dermal Filler reactions & COVID Immunisation- Advice

 🌿 Immune reactions after dermal filler are a known risk. Common triggers include the cold virus, influenza, gastroenteritis or immunisations.

🌿 The issue with the COVID vaccine is that the ENTIRE world is currently undergoing COVID vaccination, and dermal fillers are increasing in popularity. Hence the increased incidence. 

🌿 This is nothing really surprising, so please don' t get worried and delay your vaccine. If you do get a problem - please contact us and we can review you.

Advice on Dermal Filler Injections: Immunisation, Illness  & Dental Work

  1. Do not have a dermal filler treatment in the 2 weeks before or after an immunisation, including COVID immunisation and Flu immunisation

    Why: Increased risk of dermal filler swelling/altered immune response

  2. Do not have a dermal filler injection when you are unwell e.g. have a cold or infection.

    Why: Increased risk of dermal filler swelling/altered immune response/increased  infection risk) Also at the moment- if you are sick- you should be at home anyway!

  3. Do not have dermal filler injection for 2 weeks after a dental clean or dental procedure.

    Why: Increased infection risk

Previous treatment with fillers is not a contraindication to being vaccinated
